Charles Halcomb
Former U.S. supercross champ James Stewart is being courted by KTM and Honda to race in the USA next year. His Yamaha deal expires at he end of the season.
Honda is trying to get him to sign and is also chasing Christophe Pourcel and Trey Canard for the 450 class.
KTM is also chasing him for both outdoors and supercross. It’s thought if the deal comes off, Stefan Everts may move to the USA to run the team, which will also have Marvin Musquin on 250F and Mike Alessi on 450.
If Stewart signs a supercross-only deal, they will sign another rider to team up with Alessi for outdoors.
The second 250 berth is still open, and Brit Tommy Searle would like the ride but has not been made an offer yet.
