GASOLINE PROBLEMS PREVENT LUDO FROM CAPITALIZING ON HIS CONSISTENCY
Friday 13th of August
3rd Stage: Unai – Alto Paraiso de Goias
Liaison : 29 km – Speciale : 220 km – Liaison : 167 km – Total : 416 kmHello all
the Rally is a bit tougher every day. The scenery is starting to change and look more and more like African savanna!I did start in 10th this am and until the first refuel I rode consistently but couldnt focus very well. I was still able to keep my followers at the same time difference. After I left the fuel point, I started to feel it and go a lot faster I saw our buddy Ze stopped on the trail, with his Speedbrain Factory BMW on the stand. He pointed thumbs up saying he was OK. I later heard he might have had a failed ignition. Sad moment for the 5 times winner !About 5 miles after that point, I ran out of the rear fuel tanks and switched to the front one. Then for more than 15 miles my bike kept popping, dying, starting again. I got passed by the Czahor, KTM rider from Poland, and Klaumann from Honda Red Sector team.About a mn after they passed me, the bike started running again correctly. I started catching them both but the dust was too thick and with 40 miles to go to the end of the special I chose to play it safe and get to the finish, so I stayed at distance, in their dust. All in all not too bad of day as I really thought the bike was gonna die right ther. But not too good either as 8th overall for the day and for the standings was at my reach right before my problems. I end up 14th today and 9th overall in the standings. I shouldnt be greedy on this one and count my blessings.Only 3 days have passed and we still have 7 days to go!!
Just today we lost 3 guys from the top 10 alone! two on mechanical and one from a bad crash.Cheers all.Ludo
