AFM Round #3posted in Superbike on May 30th 2010 at 3:15pm.

AFM Rd # short and sweet update...

600 Superbike

Superbike again did not go as excpected or wanted... I again wanted a top 10 and I was supposed to start from 18th and what happened?
I missed the start and started from pit lane and the pack was exiting turn 7. It took me 3 laps to catch anyone and I ended up 25th by the flag out of 35 or so racers...
Bummed now... as I am 27th in the pts with two bad finishes (17th and 25th) after missing round #1

I ran a new set of Dunlop Spec tires but we also had too much air in them and I was sliding all over the place and burned up the set.

600 Production
Production went a bit better as I started 11th (because I had points now) and I hopped into 8tth right away then 7th an was chasing Jeff Greenberg who was in 6th and I was making some time on him. I was wanting a top 5 but 5th place was going a little faster but I had my sights get on Jeff. I was making some time on him even though I was spinning up pretty good. After a few laps I ws losing ground on Jeff and I decided to just bring home safe with some points to move up the points race a bit.
I am 10th in the points now after missing round #1.

Formula 1 went better but not great... I ran the bruned up spec tires and started 11th and got up to 7th or 8th and was trying to get close to Jason Butler and was catching him. After a few laps I could see I was losing ground and slowed it down to finish in the top 10 and get some points...
I finished 9th at the flag. Joy Higa had a killer ride and broke into the 1:45s this year. Way to go Joy.
I am 9th in points now after missing round #1. I had a racer run into on the exit of 7 and 9 when I passed him on the outside. But all in all a fun race.

Looking forward to the next AFM race I can make it to.

Thanks to everyone who made it possible for me to get there.
