A year that began with much promise, both on and off the track, didn’t turn out that way. While our on-track performance was the best ever since I began Legends racing, the frustrations encountered while dealing with some outside sources while managing the local Legends series overshadowed our success on the track. Albert Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” And, that is just what we were doing when we thought we were going to improve that situation. I resigned my position as President and Promoter of the series in early September, and started to focus my attention on 2011.
If you have followed us recently on Facebook, you have probably seen that there are some changes afoot. I’ve had some time to think – not enough, however – and one thing that has become apparent is that we have a number of options for 2011. One of these options includes remaining in Legends racing with the possibility of traveling; we would be racing less, but it would be a quality over quantity approach. Another option involves selling the Legends cars and changing classes. I cannot discuss the other options at this point, but there are other good options under consideration.
I appreciate all the support my wife, Rebecca, has given me this season. I also appreciate the support fellow racer Dave Spotton has given, both on and off the track. We would have missed more than one race without his help. While Dave will be around in 2011, there is a good chance his car will not. His car is for sale, as he’s had enough of the hassles we dealt with this past season. What a shame.
For those who have followed us in the past, “Thank you.” And for our new followers, “Welcome aboard.” Stay tuned for updates soon.
