Busch stands chance of being part of two championshipsposted in NASCAR on Nov 16th 2010 at 11:11am.

Kyle Busch may not be looked at as a champion in 2010, with Brad Keselowski already nailing down the driver’s title in the Nationwide Series, Todd Bodine claiming championship honors in the Camping World Truck Series, and the Sprint Cup coming down to a three-man battle between Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick heading into the season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but he may end up being a major contender in two championships by the time the 2010 race season draws to a close.

While not a full-time competitor as a driver in either the Truck Series or Nationwide Series, he is an owner in the Camping World Truck Series, competing for an owner’s title with a truck he owns and drives part-time. Meanwhile, in the Nationwide Series, Busch has been one of two drivers (the other being Brad Coleman) in Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 18 entry that leads the owner’s standings in that series.

Busch’s ship has sailed when it comes to the opportunity to be the 2010 Sprint Cup Series champion. With only this weekend’s race at Homestead-Miami before the season comes to an end, he finds himself seventh in points, 347 points behind point leader and JGR teammate Denny Hamlin. That’s more than a race worth of points.
