So, is Jimmie Johnson’s run of championships -- at least consecutive ones -- done? In political terms, I’m declaring this one “too close to call.” After Johnson’s rather poor start -- by Johnson standards -- to the 2011 Chase for the Sprint Cup, his rebound win and then slip a week ago, there seem to be two schools of thought, one being, “yep, stick a fork in him. He’s done” and the other one being “hold on just a second, he’s overcome this before.” When it comes to Johnson’s 2011 championship chances, I guess you really can make statistics say whatever you want.
