It was reported today that Dale Jr. and sister Kelley, urged Danica to replace her parents. They told her she was becoming a brand name and she needed the best professional management possible - even if it meant moving forward without her parents.
Her dad T.J. was her coach, crew chief and handled her contracts, and her mom Bev was the bookkeeper. Danica's devoted dad told The New Yorker that he and his wife were hurt by Danica's decision.
She finished a respectable 6th at this year's Indy 500 and surprised racing fans with a 2nd-place finish at the Firestone 550K in Texas on June 5 - her best finish since 2008.
She was told that her parents were a distraction and needed to distance herself from them.
To me this makes perfect since. Someone that is into car racing, both Nascar and indy cars, besides being a symbol for GoDaddy needs profession people to handle her career. It could be just the beginning for much more to come.
It was also reported that Danica’s husband, Paul Hospenthal, also agrees with her decision to replace Mom and Dad.
I just hope after the disappointment that her parents are feeling, they can see that this was a logical move to make. After all, advice from both Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Kelley, should be some advice to really follow since they know what they are talking about. With the career of their father, and the popularity of Jr. and his career, it has been seen just how things were handled.
It will be interesting to see the difference being made with the addition of professionals to manage and coach her.
She still has a big learning curve ahead with Nascar, and I believe experience is going to be the best teacher, but some professional coaching will not hurt in the least.

Kind of interesting, since Jr.'s JR Motorsports employees many members of the Earnhardt family, including sister Kelley.
