2011 AMA Daytona Sportbike class Infineon Racewayposted in Superbike on Nov 18th 2011 at 12:00am.

Well 2011 I did not post much here because honestly not alot happen... Well that is not fair.. More happen then we let you all know about...

TDSguns.com got on board again with us for 2011 to help us race a few AMA Nationals.

We rode a TDSguns.com backed Yamaha R6 and we rode in the Daytona Sportbike class again at Sonomas Infineon Raceway (Formerly Sears Point) And the Moto GP round at Montereys world famous Laguna Seca Raceway.

At Infineon as usual I qualified not as well as I would like.. I think 31st out of about 39 riders... On Saturday I got up to about 14th within a few laps and went back and forth with a few racers to get 17th. The racer right in front was only like .00400 or something silly ahead at the line.. (He was on a 848cc Ducati again my 600cc) Silly I know but that last turn you need some HP to pull to the line.. The guy behind me was like 11 seconds back so not bad for being off for soo long again. The new bike was working decent but I was overal through the whole weekend about 2 seconds slower than in 2010 on the CalGuns.net bike. Not sure why as we started with the sam ebaseline set up. The only difference was a Penske rear shock. Ahh who knows... lol

On Sunday I started out similar with me up around 13th to 15th in the first few laps... But rain was the order of the day and with maybe 5-6 laps the windscreen was spotting up... (Btw I forgot to mention) My buddy Chris Seibenhaar messed with my tarction control the night before (showing me how to use it properly) so he had it on 5 where I was running it at 2 before that... So the bike had less horsepower and my now fogging windshield (helmet) cuz of the rain was sending me backwards and FAST... I went all the way back to about 25th... Lucky they red flagged the race.

Kevin my mechanic firgured out the tracttion control cuz I just thought something was wrong with the bike... Silly me.. I of course needed another helemt because this winscreen had not been prepped for rain... After about 20 minutes we were gridded up for the re-start and SHORTENED second race. I started decent from the back and was running top 15 again... Lap after lap the group I was in went back and forth.. At the flag I am bummed to say I was 19th... Two top 20's is NOT what I was looking for... Top is where we belong at this point. Overall with the limited crew we had this year I was pretty happy with our finishes.

Special thanks to Kevin Green, Steve Neuner, Craig K., TdsGuns.com, Kyle Krawczyk, James Schummers and everyone else for making Infineon happen!! Forgive me if I forgot anyone.. It's late at night and many months ago... email me if I missed anything and I will add to it... seesmllc@hotmail.com
