Again I was onboard the TDSguns.com backed Yamaha R6 in the Daytona Sportbike class again for Laguna Seca Raceway.

At Laguna Seca as usual I qualified not as well as I would like..(normal deal now) But as I like to say I am a hard charger so it's fun for THAT... I think I started about 31st or so again... This race is special since we saddle along side Moto GP. We only get 1 race so the weekend is really good or really bad.. You do not get a re-do.. Haha

After struggling in qualifying we swamped to my Terry Hay built Race Tech (stock modified rear shock) Lucky I did that and I dropped another 1.5 off my times to get us onto the grid after struggling a fair bit... lol

I started out well for the 23 lap final and flew all the way to 18th with 1 lap... Yeah buddy... But going into lap two (in turn 2 also) Jake Holden crashed and got ran over my Paul Allison. the crash was pretty bad and Jake need to be transported for I think a sfew broken ribs.... Glad you were OK Jake.

On the re-start (was supposed to be now 15 laps I think) Entering trun 11 I missed a shift and got pushed wide by a fellow racer and lost two postions. I drag raced over over turn 1 and almost packed into a racer on a Ducati 848cc (haha those silly bikes I wish I had that HP) haha Anyway going down the hill into 2 I thought I had the drive to pass "said" racer (used to be a good buddy) Anyway I dove super tight for the inside line backing it in hard into t-2... He came from the far right side of the track and over lines were going to intersect. I braked as hard as I could to ensure we did not hit. ALMOST worked... Until my front brake lever caught his left elbow...
UGGH I tucked the front end (which was my first EVER RR crash btw)
Lucky when we hit he did not go down.. I just bumped him wide. (He tells everyone I messed up his race) Sorry dude you finished pretty much where you would have with or without that Craig bump...

Anyway I was now backwards in the gravel trap and picked up the bike and spun a big sandy donut to get headed on the right direction and back on the track. I was probably at least 30-40 seconds behind the leaders at this point. Sucky way to try to come from behind.. I was at least up and rolling. Cleared the tires of sand and debris and I was off... Ahhh but I was pushing HARD and OH yeah I ran wide now in 4 and flat tracked it (yup I got pics) back onto the track and now I had to make CLEAN laps to catch the back of the pack.

The now "15 lap" race was on.. I was moving ok (still 2 seconds off 2010 times) but making clean laps and trying hard with bent bars and a broke clutch lever. Little did I know it would be for nothing as on lap 10 DORNA (the Moto GP promoter) pulled the plug and we were done. But having said THAT Lucky they red flagged the race as the engine crashed has been cracked by hitting the other racers bike when I feel. The bodywork was broken and FULL of oil. Also the AMA water plugs (what a terrible idea) was popped out now from the impact. I am soo surprised that no oil got on the rear tire...

I finished 28th so it could have been worse (much worse) I guess first I should thanks God for keeping me safe and getting me home to my kids.

I did get to fly in a helicoptor for the first time with Ricky Corey's brother Ryan!! Thanks for not killing me Ryan!! lol

Again not what we expected but after hitting the ground I was pretty ok with the weekend and everything...

I am soo looking forward to 2012 and waay better stuff too!! Thanks everyone for reading this.. Better late then NEVER right? lol
