I am a car crazy woman, a glutton for technology, and I adore motorsports -not necessarily in that order.

Some of my earliest memories are about cars, like being in the backseat of our Karmann Ghia with the top down. Or in 1st grade, shouting out, "Hey Dad, why are all those people standing around our new car?!”.   He'd just bought a 1965 Mustang.    I learned to drive in that car.  When I was in college he sold it for more than ten times what he'd paid for it to make way for his new Porsche 914.  He flipped 914s for awhile and bought a 944 as his daily driver.   When we were together, inevitable car stops were made; checking out a new model at a dealer, searching downtown for something he'd caught a glimpse of, or going to a car show or auction.  Being car crazy is part of Dad's legacy that now extends to his grandson – for better or worse.

If I'd only known decades ago that I could actually be involved in motorsports, I would have started much earlier. I learned about SCCA in 2000 when I was looking for some way to ease my son back into American culture. Since he's car crazy too I thought volunteering at racing events would be a perfect hobby for both of us.   I had no idea what a life changing decision that was.   From the very first event I was hooked.  I now have an SCCA National License for Grid / Pit and I would be happy to spend every holiday through-out race season, at the track!

As much as I love road racing I think I love rally racing more. There is something very edgy about it. The first Rally I volunteered for was the now defunct SCCA Maine Forest Rally; driving home I wondered, “what kind of nitwit drives 8 plus hours to stand in the woods, be eaten up by black flies,  and eat dust with each passing rally car?"    I couldn't wait to do it again. Several years later I ended up being Chief Marshal for Rally New York.    I'm no longer in that position but I fully intent to continue to travel to rallys and volunteer whenever possible.

When I wasn't on vacation at some motorsport event,  I was working as a project management professional for major technology company. For the last 15+ years I've managed large projects that delivered various web based software applications (websites). I was in on the ground floor of this beautiful thing we call the world wide web and have loved every minute of it of its amazing growth. Melding my passion for motorsports, technology, and things on wheels has been a natural progression for me. I've had many different websites of my own over the years. Today I have a website dedicated to my profession (project management), a personal blog where I just post whatever strikes my fancy, and the 3rd is what I hope will be a very long term venture: TrackStories.org.

Trackstories stems from my deepest appreciation for those people involved in motorsports. At the end of a race day everyone gathers up to eat, drink, be merry and talk about what happened that day. It comes from the deepest element in our nature which craves gathering around the fire and telling stories. I've heard such great speakers over the past 10 years and always thought that someone should be capturing their story and not just in words but visually so you can see their emotions as they tell their tale. That's what I am going to do with Trackstories. The rest of the story I hope to tell here on FullSpeed.com. I plan to share with you a car crazy, motorsports adoring perspective that will, no doubt, continue to evolve over time and space. I hope you will enjoy the ride as much as I do!
