"Baltimore is expected to replace the tight, 1.5-mile Lime Rock Park as the event in the US north east - a key market for the series' manufacturers - following criticism of the Connecticut circuit."
Saw this one coming. Yeah. Skip Barber has really loved having the ALMS races at Lime Rock. And I think he even modified the track to help them (and him, and VSCCA, and the Lime Rock Club) with the repaving and all that. But it was still too tight. Just not enough places to pass. Too short of a front straight. Too many classes in the race group because an LMP1 and GT2 .... that's serious traffic trouble every single lap. Isn't it guys? Are there drivers on here who want to share an opinion on that - please do!
One of the things I loved the most about the ALMS races at Lime Rock, was after we got all the cars on the straight for the start, we'd hustle over to flagger station 2. And watch the start. It was awsum. But what was amazing was that the cars were so fast you'd be turning to watch the last one go by after the first lap and here would come the pole down the straight. Crazy. I'm glad I got to see it.
Thanks on both counts Rich!
