Michigan native Brad Keselowski overcame pit road and mechanical problems to dominate Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide race.
Keselowski, who hails from nearby Rochester Hills, Michigan, led the majority of the Carfax 250 at Michigan International Speedway en route to his fourth win of the 2010 campaign.
“We had some struggles on pit stops,” Keselowski said, “but we were so hooked up, we overcame our pit and clutch problems on the track. I was just disappointed the bad clutch kept me from doing a good burnout for the fans.”
With the win, Keselowski increased his Nationwide series championship points lead to 347 points over rival Carl Edwards. Kyle Busch is an even more distant 505 points behind. Needless to say, the fat lady is warming up her vocal chords with 12 races remaining.
On the track, Edwards and Busch finished second and third while Justin Allgaier and Paul Menard rounded out the top five. Danica Patrick struggled throughout the day, finishing four laps down in 27th place.
