While watching last night’s Bud Shootout, I found myself pondering and reflecting on the new two-car draft. “Dancing partners” was a term used more during the broadcast of the 75-lap event on Fox than is normally uttered during an episode of “Dancing with the Stars.”
Just not sure if I liked it. While I did find myself often on the edge of my seat during several laps, and I am excited about the 195 mph average lap speeds and highs of 206 mph from Waltrip and Busch, this two car “dancing” on the track just doesn’t cut it for me.
The drivers commented favorably about it, and there was the obligatory “big one” wreck (thanks Regan Smith). The finish was exciting…but…
I guess we’ll just have to see what happens when the field is twice the size as last night during next Sunday’s Daytona 500. For now, I’m skeptical.
It looked more like a waltz last night than a race.
